School based Professional Development focused on technology and the curriculum

Using technology to create an engaging classroom environment while ensuring effective learning outcomes is a modern day challenge faced by all schools. Establishing these school based technology programs involves a substantial financial investment. To ensure your school gets the most from this investment we recommend a consultation with our Professional Development Team who will happily help you customise a Professional Development program specifically for your school.

The MAC1 Professional Development Team will work with you to assess the current operating level of your staff and students and develop appropriate hands-on workshops to suit their needs. We work within all levels of education from K-12 schools through to tertiary institutions. Our courses are all delivered by industry qualified and experienced teachers.

We can facilitate the standard Apple Professional Development Workshop Modules for your school and assist Teachers wishing to obtain Apple Teacher Badges with relevant customised Professional Development workshops. We also offer customised school-based workshops for students designed with connections to the curriculum and an emphasis on using technology efficiently in the classroom.

A MAC1 Professional Development Program can assist with:

  • Increasing competency with technology.
  • Finding amazing classroom work-flow solutions and effective Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Creating a higher level of student engagement.
  • Redefining the classroom to achieve things that were previously impossible before using the technology in the first place.

Concepts we value when developing a workshop include:

  • Using Technology with Formative Feedback
  • Creating Success Criteria and Rubrics (as discussed by John Hattie)
  • SAMR (Ruben Puentedura)
  • TPACK (Punya Mishra)

What our clients say

Steve provided a practical hands on approach to using iPads and macs with students. Even though he tailored the day to suit the ability level of the group, he stretch our learning into areas we did not expect. He is obviously keeping pace with the latest development of apps and websites for teachers and students, and this was reflected in his presentation. I would have no hesitation in recommending him for a professional learning day. It is money well spent.
Peter Pashen – Principal, All Saints Catholic Primary School
Our Year 6 students have worked with Steve many times over the last three years, today those students are creating iMovie
advertisements, including using green screen effects, for various projects and podcasts and soundscapes with Garageband.
They are able to combine several of these presentation tools to create a high standard multimedia presentation which would
match that of high school students and sometimes beyond.
Amanda Joseph – IT Coordinator, Holy Family Primary, Enmore
We have utilised the services of with MAC1 over the last three years in the integration of ICT into the curriculum. We would not hesitate to recommend MAC1 as a training provider as their service and commitment has been outstanding. Student learning and skills have been significantly enhanced whilst the reaction of staff has been universally positive. Importantly staff have transferred their training into the classroom to improve learning outcomes for students.
Andrew Mackenzie – eLearning Coordinator, Our Lady of Mercy Catholic College, Burraneer
Dear Steve and Simone,
I wanted to thank you both personally for the outstanding skill and expertise you shared with us today. You enabled me to understand coding a little better. It was so much fun and I felt more and more capable as I developed my coding skills by designing a game. The kids were also amazing and were great tutors – a nice role reversal! Thanks for demystifying coding for me.

Tanya Modini – Class Teacher , Regina Coeli, Beverly Hills
